Arrow VS Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 2 Spoilers As Executive Producer Addresses Comic Book Comparisons

As "Arrow" season 2 continues its winter hiatus, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg took the time to address its comparison to "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"We don't really feel like we're in competition with anybody else," responded Kreisberg to TVLine. "We're only trying to outdo ourselves as we move forward."

After the fall finales, many viewers felt that "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." paled in comparison to "Arrow" season 2, with some commentators advising the ABC series to watch the CW hit for lessons on how to make a comic book TV series.

Indeed, The Guardian contributor Graeme Virtue wrote that "Arrow" season 2 outdid "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." in areas like action, casting, fan service, and focus and momentum.

“I think all of us here — not just as writers but as viewers — are thrilled that we’re in what feels like a golden age of comic book adaptations in both film and television,” Kreisberg added.

“We’re excited to be part of this real shift in the TV landscape that includes 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' and hopefully for next season 'Gotham' and 'Constantine,' and even the 'Daredevil' show, which I’m really excited about. We really feel like a rising tide lifts all ships, so the more comic book adaptations the better!”

While "Arrow" season 2 goes on its winter hiatus, spoilers continue to surface regarding the future of the CW hit series.

Regarding Alex Kingston as Dinah Lance, the character will return in "Arrow" season 2 episode 14.

“Episode 14 is probably the most 'Brothers & Sisters' episode we’ve done,” said Kreisberg. “Everyone in the Lance family has big secrets and it’s all going to get blown wide open, but in a good way.”

Check out a new promo for "Arrow" season 2 episode 10 "Blast Radius," which is set to broadcast January 15.
