Winnipeg shutout Buffalo 3-0 Tuesday behind Al Montoya's 27 saves. It was the third-straight win for Montoya in net for the Jets, who has allowed four goals in his past three starts.

"For me it's just about doing the right things in practice and working hard. Like I said earlier, the team is doing a great job in front of me," Montoya told NHL.com. "Maybe I'm seeing the first shot but after that, clearing rebounds out, we're communicating well in the defensive zone, and we're putting together victories here right now."

Montoya went 5-0-0 and allowed five goals in six games (five starts) in December, and could take more playing time from starter Ondrej Pavelec, according to NHL.com. Watch the free live stream online if he could stop a streaky offense of the Senators.

"These things kind of go in cycles, and right now [Montoya] is riding a good cycle...But I'm not losing fact that Pavelec is a very good goalie," Jets coach Claude Noel said. "To me, one guy is playing well, and the other guy has hit a bump in the road, and that's the way it goes. It happens with all of the players."

Injury report, according to NHL.com:

"Forwards Jim Slater (hernia) and Matt Halischuk (fractured forearm), and defensemen Paul Postma (blood clot, leg) and Grant Clitsome (undisclosed), are on injured reserve for the Jets. ... Senators defenseman Chris Phillips (foot) is probable, but center Jason Spezza (hip) is out. Forward Chris Neil (lower body) is out indefinitely."
