Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: New HTC Handset Dubbed One+ Boasts 5" 1080p Display, Snapdragon 805, 8MP UltraPixel Cam, Leaked By Recognized XDA Member

If you are an HTC fan and you have been waiting for upcoming HTC phones in 2014 particularly the rumored HTC One 2 (M8), then you may have been really disappointed with the list of 'preliminary' specs EVLeaks posted yesterday on Twitter.

But fret not, another list of alleged specs would surely bring back the smile on your face.

According to recognized XDA member and developer Mike1986, the upcoming flagship would be named HTC One+ instead, which sounds much better than One 2 (which would lead to an HTC One 2 3 next year).

The new set of specifications include:

  • 5″ FullHD 1080p covered by Gorilla Glass 3
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 805
  • 2GB LPDDR3 RAM
  • 6 or 8MP UltraPixel camera (possibly with double lens)
  • 2.1MP front camera
  • Software buttons
  • 2900mAh battery
  • Android KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0
  • micro-SIM, microSD
  • NFC
  • We will all agree that these features are much juicier than the bland specs mentioned yesterday. The bump in both processor and camera resolution would surely be welcomed additions. According to most HTC One reviews, its battery performs well under moderate to heavy usage, and the bigger 2900mAh battery would certainly increase battery life.

While HTC retaining Full HD display may be forgiven, it may not be the case for the RAM which still stands at 2GB.

Before we get too excited with these details, let's just be reminded that these are just rumors. The CES and MWC are approaching so we may not have to wait that long for a confirmation.
