'Batman Vs Superman' Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson To Play Green Lantern Or Cyborg? 2013 Box Office Champion Will Be DC’s Answer To Vin Diesel?

Dwayne Johnson looks like he’s built to star in franchise movies. Will he be a part of the unprecedented blockbuster summer of 2015 via ‘Batman Vs Superman?’

‘The Rock’ is on a roll! He was crowned as the box office champion of 2013. The distinction was handed down by Forbes. There’s no championship belt or anything, and the distinction doesn’t exactly reflect on him alone. Johnson was a part of four movies in 2013 that collectively raked in $ 1.3 billion gross worldwide, foremost of which is “Fast and Furious 6” which posted $789 million. Three other movies rounded out his total. He edged out Robert Downey Jr. ‘Tony Stark’ had only one movie and that was the highest grossing movie this year (fifth all time) “Iron Man 3.”

The Rock has only one possible blockbuster lined up for next year (Hercules) as “Fast and Furious 7” was bumped to 2015 after Paul Walker’s death. Downey has four films, but these are smaller productions which will probably not merit even half of last year’s take. However, the conversation is not about personal earnings, but the movies’ ticket sales. Downey has a firm hold on that list being the solo star of his single movie.

Johnson is most likely to reclaim his title in 2015, with FF 7 and earthquake disaster “San Andreas.” Downey will also have a strong bet in “Avengers:Age of Ultron” which is expected to break the billion dollar mark. What would turn the tide in The Rock’s favor is joining the other big franchise: “Batman Vs. Superman.”
While his FF7 pal Vin Diesel is locked in with Marvel, Johnson is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros, the studio developing the DC Comics Universe. According to rumor site Think McFly Think site owner Peter Georgiu on Twitter:

The rumor is admittedly unconfirmed, and observers note that Cyborg is more viable character for The Rock. The football game shot for the movie (Metropolis Vs Gotham) has hinted the possibility since Cyborg was a former football player.

It’s a long shot, but everything is speculation at this point. Stay tuned for more updates.
