Irving is listed as out for the game, according to ESPN.com, which will make matters worse vs the best team right now in the NBA.
"He's our best player, especially when it comes to scoring the basketball. So you miss his 22 points a game," coach Mike Brown said. "But I give our guys credit. They competed in the second half. We had a chance to win it. We took the lead, we just couldn't hold on. You miss a guy of his capabilities especially down the stretch in situations like this."
Indiana is coming off a 14-point comeback win with an explosive second half over the New Orleans Pelicans just last night.
"We knew eventually that the shots we were going to fall," said Paul George, who had 24 points and 10 rebounds. "We just play so well defensively, we know that's going to keep us in the game. We just stuck to our defense."
