After the release of I9300XXUGML2 firmware based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, a new update is available for Samsung Galaxy S3. According to International Business Times, I9300XXUGMK7 based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is now available for the global version of the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Samsung Galaxy S3, released on May 2012, was launched with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, according to its Wikipedia page. And right now, the device can be upgraded to the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

Reportedly, the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 is available via the KIES desktop tool. Also, the OTA notification will arrive on your Samsung Galaxy S3 once the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware update becomes available on your region.

January 2014 is the listed build date of the XXUGMK7 firmware, and it is currently available for the Samsung Galaxy S3 users located in Israel.

But for Samsung Galaxy S3 users who cannot wait for the OTA update to arrive on their respective region, they can opt for the manual installation process. However, this is only applicable for those with the factory unlocked version of the GT-I9300 units of the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Since the firmware is unbranded, the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update can be installed to any unlocked Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 units, regardless of the country or region.

Before installing the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on Samsung Galaxy S3, there are few things to check first:

Verify if you have the international version of Samsung Galaxy S3. Check the specific model of the smartphone and see if it is a GT-I9300 unit by going to Settings > About > Model Number.

The battery level of the Samsung Galaxy S3 should be 80 percent or more before installing official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.
