Jenny McCarthy To Take Legal Measures Over “Irresponsible And Inaccurate” Reporting On Son’s Autism? Says Article Opens Wounds!

Jenny McCarthy is considering to take legal measures over the article published on Radar Online that quoted her as saying that her son was misdiagnosed with autism in 2005. "The View" host even went further to say that the article was "irresponsible and inaccurate" and has opened "wounds."

McCarthy posted a statement on her Twitter account on Jan. 4: "Stories circulating online, claiming that I said my son Evan may not have autism after all, are blatantly inaccurate and completely ridiculous."

"Please know that I am taking every legal measure necessary to set this straight."

Jenny McCarthy said contrary to the report, her son was diagnosed by the Autism Evaluation Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital and was confirmed by the regional center of the State of California.

"The implication that I have changed my position, that my child was not initially diagnosed with autism (and instead may suffer from Landau-Kleffner Syndrome), is both irresponsible and inaccurate," she added.

She said the article was a rehashed story that appeared on TIME magazine in 2010 and even twisted her original statements to make it seem that she has changed her position since then.

"Continued misrepresentations, such as these, only serve to open wounds of the many families who are courageously dealing with this disorder."

Since her son was diagnosed with autism, Jenny McCarthy's methods were questioned by the scientific community for pursuing alternative ways to treat his son's condition. She also sparked controversy when she claimed that her son's condition can be linked to vaccines for measles/mumps/rubella.

McCarthy also wrote several books on her son's autism such as "Mother Warriors: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds" and "Louder than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism." The conclusions she posited in her books were again questioned by medical doctors, said the Huffingtonpost.

The article questioning her son's autism condition was later removed by Radar Online, but McCarthy said it won't stop her from seeking a lawyer.
