According to the latest reports about "The Division" release date, the arrival of the upcoming third-person tactical shooter action video game will be delayed.

As posted on Gamefront, Tom Clancy's The Division release date may not happen until 2015. During the game's unveiling at E3 2013, Ubisoft announced that the "The Division" release date will be set at some point this 2014. However, news about the potential delay of The Division release date are not emerging in the gaming world, originating from an unnamed "member of the development team" from Ubisoft Massive.

According to the anonymous source from Ubisoft Massive, the game company is still working on the Engine that power the upcoming title. As posted on IGN, citing GameReactor, "the source claimed that while the recently-demonstrated Snowdrop Engine that powers the game is close to completion, only a sliver of the actual world has been built."

Furthermore, the source shared:

"The game engine works well; it's not done but works well. The actual game development has barely started, however. The fact that Ubisoft has gone public with a 2014 release date feels laughable to be perfectly honest, we will never be able to release The Division this year. It's a large project, and we have very far to go."

Gamefront asked Ubisoft for any comments regarding the rumors about the alleged delay of The Division release date. The company said, "We do not comment on rumors or speculation."

Though it is still not confirmed that The Division release date will be postponed to 2015, there is a possibility that the rumor may actually pan out, given the track record of the company when it comes to game releases. For instance, "Watch Dogs" was delayed as well to the early part of 2014. "The Crew" until now, does not have a solid 2014 release date, too.
