Install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update On Samsung Galaxy Tab 7; CM10.1 Nightly ROM Available For P1000 Model

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 users can now install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update on their devices.

In addition to HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505, the Galaxy Tab 7 GT-P1000 can now be upgraded to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware. As posted on its Wiki page, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 is packed with a 7-inch TFT-screen, 3.2 primary camera, and a 1.0 GHz ARM Cortex A8 Samsung Exynos 3110. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 originally runs the Android 4.4 Froyo OS.

However, thanks to the release of CyanogenMod10.1 Nightly ROM, the device can now experience Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean update. As posted on International Business Times, the CyanogenMod10.1 or the CM10.1 custom firmware is based on Google's original Android Open Source Project or AOSP release, "which is reportedly designed to deliver superior performance and stability than stock Android versions."

But since it is a nightly build, users of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 who wish to install the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean custom ROM should expect to experience bugs, issues and broken features in the firmware. But the fix for all the issues will arrive in the forthcoming CM10.1 updates.

Also, because this is a custom ROM, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 P1000 owners who want to install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update via the custom ROM should be more careful during the installation process. Improper installation of the firmware can damage the device.

Make sure to follow the comprehensive instructions provided on this post to ensure successful installation of CM10.1 ROM on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 P1000.

Moreover, there are prerequisites to take care of before installing the custom ROM. For instance, make sure that the USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 P1000 are installed on your computer so the Android device will easily connect with your PC during the installation process.

Also, since the update process might wipe out all the content of your device, create a backup first by using custom recovery tools like ClockWorkMod or TWRP.

The battery level of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 P1000 should be at least 80 percent.
