Nokia Lumia 929 Verizon, Release Date: Rumored Windows Phone Handset Expected To Be Launched Jan. 16 Seen In An Incipio Case; Specs Of Device Inc. 5-inch 1080 P Display

Nokia Lumia 929 release date: Nokia Lumia 929, the rumored upcoming Windows Phone by the handset manufacturer, will be launched on January 16 and will exclusively be available from Verizon, a GSM Arena report suggest.

The gadget review site noted that the smartphone allegedly being developed for Verizon in the U.S. was seen in wearing an Incipio case on the makers own site. The unit is identified as Nokia Icon, which GSM Arena has reported as the codename for the upcoming Lumia 929.

The Nokia Lumia 929 was initially expected last December but the release was pushed back.

According to WP Central, the Nokia Lumia 929 is expected to have a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and will be running on a Snapdragon 800 processor. On a spec sheet of the rumored model in Phone Arena, it says that the unit maybe available at a price point of $500. It’s also expected to have a 2510mAh battery. Connectivity options for the unit would include 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and NFC.

A report by The News Tribe noted that the Lumia 929 will come with wireless charging out of the box and will be offered in matte white or matte black.

Phone Arena says that the Nokia Lumia 929 could be the most important Windows Phone once its launched. The rumored specs for the unit is similar to the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet, with its 5-inch screen. The mobile industry-focused site said that the Lumia 929 is the company’s response to the bevy of Android models with 5-inch screens in the market today.

The top-shelf specs of the device is expected to go against Android models like Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z1 and the LG G2.

In an earlier report, Wireless Ground published an image of an accessory called the “Armor Stand Case” that gives very clear attributes on what the Lumia 929 may look like. The case has three support columns, confirming speculations that the phone may have a larger 1080P screen. The Incipio Case is the latest of leaks that reportedly suggests the actual attributes of the soon-to-be released Windows Phone.
