The first of the two free games for Xbox Live Gold members this month is currently available on the marketplace.

Sleeping Dogs, one of the free games for Xbox Live Gold members this January 2014 can now be downloaded for 0 Microsoft points as part of Games with Gold program, as posted on Associated News. The free open-world crime game was made available for free on the Xbox Live Store on January 1.

Sleeping Dogs was released back in 2012. According to its Wikipedia page, the open world action adventure game is developed by United Front Games together with Square Enix London Studios. Published by Square Enix, Sleeping Dogs is available for Windows, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Sleeping Dogs is set in Hong Kong. The gameplay, as described on Metacritic, reads, "Taking the role of undercover cop Wei Shen, players must take down one of the world's most lethal criminal organizations from the inside."

However, this free game for Xbox Live Gold members will only be available until January 15. On January 16, it will be replaced by the other free game for Xbox Live Gold members announced for this month, which is "Lara Croft And The Guardian of Light."

'Games with Gold' program offers two free games for Xbox Live Gold members every month. The first game is released every 1^st day of the month, while the second one arrives on the 16^th.

In addition to the two free games for Xbox Live Gold members this month, there are discounted games currently available on the Xbox Live Store. 2K Games is currently having a publisher sale offering few of their titles for a cheaper price.
