Sony CES 2014 Recap: Sony AX100 And AS100V To Hit The Market As New Flagship Camcorders For Sony, Packed With New Features

Sony brought their A-game in the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, as they unveiled the new line of their new generation of Sony camcorders in the CES 2014.

The new AX100 will be the new Sony flagship for the 4k series to replace last year's release - the FDR-AX1 - the new camera features a less professional look by making this year's flagship smaller and more compact to make it easier and simpler to use.

The AX100 will be having a one-inch, 14.2 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor packed with a f/2.8-4.5 12x optical zoom that would surely capture sharp and clear images even in low light and an impressive shallow depth-of-field for the compact yet powerful camera.

Beside the 4k camera, a new Sony action cam is also set for release in the CES 2014. The new AS100V will be Sony's flagship for the action camera series as this new action cam is powerful enough to shoot high-quality XAVC-S HD videos (up to 50 Mbps), 1080/24p, 720/120p and 720/240p for excellent extra slow motion videos that can take extremely excellent videos.

This new Sony As100v will also be the first Sony action camera that can be mounted in a tripod without being inside a waterproof case.

The new line of projector cameras are also expected in the Sony CES 2014 press conference as the new flagship for projector cams, the PJ810 is set for a reveal together with its lower versions, PJ540, PJ340 and the entry-level PJ275, that ranges from $400-$1500.

These projector cameras will have major upgrades as the PJ series specifically the PJ810 will have a 50 lumens increase and all the PJ series camcorders can project from external devices via the HDMI connection. In totality, it will be much easier and more powerful than the previous generations of the cameras.
