Upcoming Nokia Phones 2014: The Nokia Icon Appears Briefly In Verizon's Site, Confirmed To Be Lumia 929

Even before the start of the year, there have been lots of rumors about upcoming Nokia phones for 2014. After all these rumors, it looks like the Nokia Icon is actually the rumored Lumia 929 that will hit Verizon some time this quarter.

In a report by GSM Arena, the Windows Phone 8-powered handset appeared online once more, and on Verizon's website no less. With a pricetag of $777 on-contract, that may be a steep price, but considering the Nokia Icon's specs, it may still be worth it.

As you may have guessed, the page has since been taken down, though not before some vigilant leakers were able to take a screencap of it.

In case you've been inside a hole for some time, the Nokia Lumia 929 is actually a dubbed down version of the Lumia 1520 phablet flagship, the most notable differences being the smaller 5-inch screen. (We know, 5 inches isn't really 'small' by industry standards)

The Icon packs a 1080p display, a Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and a 20MP PureView snapper at the back. However, the Lumia 929's battery has been shrunk to just 2,420mAh\.

For Verizon subscribers, are you up for this Windows powered handset from Nokia? And for non-Verizon subscribers? Is it practical to switch carriers just to exclusively get this device?
