NBA Trade Rumors - Carmelo Anthony To LA Debunked; Celebrity Wife Does Not Demand Hollywood Transfer

NBA Trade Rumors regarding Carmelo Anthony to the LA Clippers and LA Lakers have resurfaced, but analysts have warned about Melo's red flags. Other rumors referring to his wife's preference was deemed superficial.

The trade rumors of Carmelo Anthony for Blake Griffin has been debunked before, but the new rumblings have Melo playing WITH Blake Griffin and Chris Paul. The tweet was from Basketball insider Gery Woelfel or Racine Journal Times. The exact package that they will send to New York was not specified.

Even before the rumor would gain some ground, it was already being shot down. From Bleacher Report:

"Anthony has a lot of red flags sprouting out of his game, including on the defensive side where the Lakers have all white flags. With Bryant and Anthony, the Lakers would be putting forth nearly $50 million a year for two players similar in their ball-stopping offense and non-stopping defense. Mike D'Antoni, for how much he sneers at post-up plays, called a bunch of them for Jordan Hill to go after Anthony on Sunday."

Speaking of Mike D'Antoni, he is also one main reason why a Anthony to the Lakers will not work. From the same analysis: "D'Antoni and Anthony can't co-exist, as evidenced by their time together in New York. D'Antoni was practically squirming in his shoes before the Lakers' 16th loss in 19 games not because of how bad his team has become, but because the New York media probed him with questions about Anthony."

Why do rumors of Anthony going to LA persist if it's not a good fit for both teams? The stated reason does not even concern basketball, and it has already been shot down. The idea that Lala Vazquez needs to be in LA because of her celebrity status is erroneous. Thus, she thinks Melo will stay in New York. From Bravo TV show "Watch What Happens Live": "I definitely think he will stay. I know that he wants to stay, and I support him wherever he wants to go. Listen, I used to live in Denver with him. If I can live in Denver, I can live anywhere. I just want him to be happy."

There you have it. The Anthonys do not need to be in LA. Both LA teams are not so keen on the idea anyway.
