LG G2 VS. Nexus 5: Specs Of Famous Android Flagships Pitted Against Design, Display, Processors & Camera; Which Of This Two Is The Winning Smartphone?

LG G2 vs. Nexus 5 is on everyone lips since the Nexus brings great features at a very affordable cost while the LG G2 is made by the same manufacturers of the Nexus but sold on a contract. They have a lot of similarities and it can prove quite tough to pick out the best one. Phone Arena does an in-depth review of the devices in their feature.

Design
When it comes to looking at the Nexus 5 and the LG G2 from a distance, you will not make out any differences in design. When you hold them in your hands however, the difference is clear. Both smartphones are made from polycarbonate plastic but the Nexus 5 comes with a matte finish that feels very soft in your hands. The LG G2 on the other hand has been given a glossy finish. This makes it quite slippery especially if you sweat. It also leaves more prints and smudges than the Nexus 5.

Display
The displays on both the smartphones are sure to impress. It is all a matter of which would be better for whom. The Nexus 5 comes with a 5-inch display with IPS technology. It has a 1080 by 1920 resolution. The G2 is also an IPS LCD display but this time with 5.2-inches of real estate. It also displays 1080p.
According to the specs, the Nexus 5 which has a pixel density of 445 ppi should have more vibrant colors and visuals than the G2 that has 423 ppi. When you look at them however, there is practically no difference no matter how you try to find one.

User Interface
The hardware in the Nexus 5 and the LG G2 are pretty much the same. When it comes to the software experience however, they are totally opposite. Nexus 5 runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat which has a straightforward approach allowing you to use it without any distractions. The LG G2 on the other hand relies on a customized 4.2.2 Jelly Bean that offers users so many different options and functions that can become either very annoying or productive.

Android 4.4 Kitkat on the Nexus 5 is clean and simple while G2 tried too hard to give users customization options. The G2 Jelly Bean interface therefore comes off looking a bit childish and animated. All the clutter can also become mentally tiring at some point.

When it comes to how they function, the smartphones are once again identical. Both of them will let users enjoy the Google Now experience that lets you easily navigate apps and commands. You can also simply say “okay Google” when on the home screen and pick a command to execute.

Processors
Both the LG G2 and the Nexus 5 run on a quad-core Snapdragon 800 from Qualcomm. This is clocked at 2.3 GHz. They come with 2GB of RAM (LPDDR3) and a GPU from Adreno 330. They can do any of the tasks you need to perform on a smartphone today without breaking a sweat.
The Nexus 5 allows users to choose between 16 & 32 GB capacities while the LG G2 comes only at 32 GB. There is no way of adding storage as both devices have closed designs.

Camera
The Nexus 5 comes with an 8 megapixel camera whereas the LG G2 has 13 Megapixels. Both of these cameras are equipped with f2.4 aperture lenses and Optical Image Stabilization. While the Nexus 5 may have more megapixels than the G2, the G2 makes up for it by offering plenty of cool shooting modes and manual controls.

Battery Life
The G2 comes with a 3,000 mAh battery that should give you 14 hours of use. The Nexus 5 on the other hand has a 2,300 mAh battery that will last two hours less than the G2.
