Nokia Normandy A.K.A. Nokia X Is Definitely An Entry-Level Droid, Specs Include 4" Screen, Dual-Core 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM And 5MP Shooter

It has been a gruesome stretch for Nokia as it prepares to become part of Microsoft, but its first act of defiance against Windows Phone OS is probably one of the most interesting stories we have seen lately.

And as the MWC in Barcelona draws near, we also get to know more details about the the Finnish manufacturer's first Android-powered handset, the Nokia Normandy.

Yesterday, notorious leakster EV Leaks has also revealed another label for the Normandy - Nokia X. We don't know what exactly the company is thinking for placing such a label, but its status in the Nokia compound while it was being developed may give you an idea.

In the numerous rumors which have been around lately, we have also confirmed the Nokia X's specs - a 4-inch WVGA screen, a dual-core Snapdragon chipset, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage.

Other specs also include a 5-megapixel camera, dual-SIM support, and 1,500mAh battery. The phone is also running on Android 4.4 KitKat, though rumors point out that this is a trimmed version of the update.

The same rumors also suggest that the Nokia Normandy will not be able to get all the Google Services available in other devices. Instead, Nokia will be the one to provide its own application store, though sideloading Android apps could still be possible.

We can't wait until we get our hands on the Normandy a.k.a. Nokia X, so stay tuned for more details.
