Cory Monteith Death: Grammys In Memoriam 2014 Mispelled His Name; Other Known Artists Snubbed As Well!

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards is finished. Although it wasn’t as controversial as the previous awards (or other award ceremonies), the Grammys In Memoriam 2014 has drawn some attention from its viewers, especially in social media sites.

Every year, the Grammys pay its tribute to different types of artists who passed away that year. This year, one of the artists who were lucky enough to be mentioned in the Grammys In Memoriam 2014 tribute was the late actor/singer Cory Monteith, Lea Michele’s former boyfriend.

As the list of late artists were shown, a lot of its viewers noticed that Cory Monteith’s name was misspelled [See image below]. Instead of “Monteith” it was spelled “Montieth”. Was it because of the very common “ie/ei” mistake?

Monteith is the late “Glee” singer/actor who passed away last year at age 31 due to alcohol and heroin overdose. He played Finn Hudson on the hit Fox musical/comedy “Glee” show.

Some of the audiences went to Twitter to express their dismay about the Cory’s misspelled name:

Other artists who were mentioned in the Grammys In Memoriam 2014 were Lou Reed, George Jones, Phil Everly, and a lot more.

However, this wasn’t the only thing that the audience noticed during the In Memoriam segment of the 2014 Grammys.

Audience also noticed other artists being snubbed by the Grammys In Memoriam segment this year including DJ Kidd Kraddick, Clive Burr, and Jeff Hanneman.

Ryan Wood, WFAA Channel 8 Producer, quickly took to Twitter to express his dismay saying, “The #Grammys featured two Chicago radio DJs in the in memoriam segment, but left out Dallas’ Kidd Kraddick.”

Other Twitter followers expressed their dismay during the In Memoriam segment of the Grammys. Some of the tweets include: Twitter user @IAMJericho said, “Publicists, lawyers Publicists, lawyers and comedians make the In Memoriam list but no CLIVE BURR or JEFF HANNEMEN??? Eff off #Grammys...

Matt Skrainer, Twitter user @MattNewsHerald, also expressed his emotions about Cory Monteith’s misspelled name saying, “Reposting because I still can't believe this. #GRAMMYs In Memoriam segment misspelled Cory Monteith's name pic.twitter.com/naAftzH7D3”

@Myles749 also shared her thoughts tweeting, “My fellow Americans, The Grammy's leaving Jeff Hanneman and Clive Burr out of the in memoriam was a disgrace to our metal community #SOTU”
