Winnipeg is coming into this game with its three-game winning streak snapped against the Capitals on Thursday. It was just the third loss in 12 games since Paul Maurice took over as coach. The Jets haven't lost consecutive games under him as they face a team that in three meetings, they only beat once and that was in a shootout.

"We have to take what we can from this game and finish strong before the break," defenseman Zach Bogosian said in the Winnipeg Free Press. "We obviously don't have anything to save it for so we've just got to give an all-out effort in St. Louis. They're a good team and it will be a good challenge for us."

The backups will be in net for both St. Louis and Winnipeg on Saturday. Brian Elliot has allowed three goals in his last three starts, but he hopes to take the momentum of his Blues team defeating a Bruins team in overtime.

"I think when you play Boston it's a great evaluator," said coach Ken Hitchcock, whose team kept the pressure on Anaheim and Chicago in the battle for the Western Conference lead. "... it also gives us a chance to know what we need to get better at. I think that's what you're looking for as a coach, leaving something from this game where we know what we've got to get better at and we've got a real good feel for that right now."

Al Montoya will be in net for the Jets, allowing one goal in each of his last two starts. He will be facing a Blues team that averages 3.32 GPG.
