Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: One M8 Mini Leaks Way Before The Original Gets Launched, Allegedly Packs 4.5" Screen, Snapdragon 400, Android KitKat

We have all heard about one of the upcoming HTC phones for 2014, HTC One M8, successor of the highly-rated One smartphone last year. But as early as now, rumors of a mini version are already under way.

According to a report by GSM Arena, notorious leakster EV Leaks strikes once more as it tweets what appears to be specs of a miniature HTC One M8, and would probably be called the One M8 Mini, still depending on the name of the upcoming flagship device.

In the tweet, EV Leaks almost provides all of the essential details save for the batttery size. Alleged specifications include a 4.5-inch screen with a slightly lower resolution at 720p, a quad-core CPU with Snapdragon 400, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

The tweet also mentions a microSD card slot, 13MP of primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera lens, Bluetooth 4.0, Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, Sense 6.0 and the reported on-screen buttons.

While all of the specs seem midrange-worthy, we take notice of the Snapdragon 400 SoC, which is a little outdated even for a midrange device of this caliber. Whether the other details are true or not, we sure hope SD400 is just a typo and would be replaced by at least a Snapdragon 600.

We'll get for you more details about the HTC One M8 mini as soon as they arrive.
