'Girls' Creator Lena Dunham 'Girl' Book Gets October 7 Release Date Despite Nudity, Vogue Cover Controversy: Will She Crack Under The Pressure?

As "Girls" season 3 continues, creator Lena Dunham is also celebrating the upcoming release of her book, "Not That Kind of Girl."

Reportedly, the Lena Dunham book is a collection of essays about being a young woman, and even its proposal has been subject to controversy and ridicule by some.

But that has not stopped Random House from setting forth on the Lena Dunham project, which now has an official release date. And no, it's just an E-book!

But as is tradition for any news attached to Lena Dunham, controversy is bound to follow.

Much like her recent controversy surrounding her Vogue magazine cover, which has led some to criticize Lena Dunham in agreeing to be photoshopped.

"I know that I felt really like Vogue supported me and wanted to put a depiction of me on the cover. I never felt bullied into anything; I felt really happy because they dressed me and styled me in a way that really reflects who I am," wrote Lena Dunham in defense of the Vogue cover.

"And I felt that was very lucky and that all the editors understood my persona, my creativity and who I am. I haven't been keeping track of all the reactions, but I know some people have been very angry about the cover and that confuses me a little. I don't understand why, photoshop or no, having a woman who is different than the typical Vogue cover girl, could be a bad thing."

And this is immediately following the controversy of a reporter questioning Lena Dunham about the amount of nudity in "Girls."

"It's a realistic expression of what it's like to be alive, I think, and I totally get it. If you're not into me, that's your problem, and you're going to have to kind of work that out with whatever professionals you've hired," said Lena Dunham during the TCA Winter Press Tour.

"She is her own worst critic and will work night and day on the show. It takes a toll. Her family doesn't want her to become a prisoner of her own mind again...The truth is that she's very fragile-and everyone is just fearful that the pressure will send her spiraling down," said a closer of friend to the "Girls" creator according to Clasicalite.
