Nokia Normandy Will Get Its Own Nokia Store Instead Of Google Play, Some Android Apps To Be Replaced With Nokia And Microsoft Apps

The Nokia Normandy has been one of the most talked about gadgets this year, and it has not even been announced yet. It is just a pretty cool idea to imagine an Android-running Nokia phone finally arriving to the market.

However, as the excitement rises, more information are disproving the assumption that this would be a hit device for the Finnish manufacturer.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Normandy, also known as Nokia X, would indeed be announced at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. However, it may not be as exciting as it seems.

The Android-powered handset will reportedly pack apps made by Nokia and Microsoft aside from the stock apps found on all Android devices. For instance, apps such as Gmail and Maps would be replaced by other applications from the Windows Phone side.

While this mix of Android and Windows Phone sure does not suit well with some people, it even gets worse.

WSJ also reports that Nokia will be launching its own Nokia Store for the Normandy, replacing the Play Store - which is basically one of the main selling points of the Android platform.

So while the Nokia Normandy release date approaches, we are getting more and more terrified to see what the Nokia X is like.
