Top Windows Phone Lumia 1520 Gets A €100 Price Cut In Russia, Firmware Update Arrives To US And UK Version

The Nokia Lumia 1520 is certainly the top Windows Phone out there, and it is definitely one of the best-looking handsets in the industry. Now, it gets a price cut in Russia and a firmware update in the US.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Lumia 1520 will get a €100-price cut from its launch price in Russia, bringing its pricetag from RUB29,990 or €630 to RUB24,990 or €525.

The price drop could be due to Nokia's poor sales during the holiday season, only managing to sell 8.2 million Lumia handsets. Another speculation for the price drop is the release of new Nokia handsets this year, including the Lumia 1320 and other soon-to-be-announced devices.

Meanwhile, the Lumia 1520 devices in the US and UK will get its first major update.

While Nokia has yet to share the details of the new firmware update, we assume it would all contribute to improve the overall performance of the device.

Launched in October at the Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi, the Lumia 1520 is a gigantic device, boasting a 6-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset, Adreno 330, a 20MP PureView camera, Windows Phone 8 Black out of the box, and a 3400mAh battery.
