Xbox One Update News: Download Problems? Time Delayed For Microsoft Improvements

An Xbox One update scheduled for Tuesday has been pushed out to later "this week," Microsoft said, while also revealing details about another big update due in March, PCMag.com reports.

Larry Hyrb, director of programming for Xbox, revealed the download and update issues.

But the Xbox One's update problems aren't all gamers are talking about.

Microsoft has announced that Nutjitsu and Worms Battleground will be among two of the first indie titles to reach Xbox One as part of its ID@Xbox scheme, GameSpot.com reports, leaving many gamers wondering if it will be the next-generation console's next big hit.

EA Sports will release the official game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 15th but there are no PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions of the game in development, GameSpot.com writes.

When questioned about the lack of Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, Producer Matthew Prior told GameSpot that due to the international appeal of the game, they expect the vast majority of fans to be playing on current-gen systems, GameSpot.com also writes.

Elder Scrolls Online is slated as one of the Xbox One's most popular games for 2014, TechnoBuffalo.com reports.

"The advantage The Elder Scrolls Online has over other MMO also-runners is an active, pre-existing fanbase used to playing massive, sprawling RPGs," the website writes.

"Skyrim sold over 20 million copies in the two years since it came out, and if ESO could pull a quarter of that, Bethesda will probably be pretty thrilled. In the world of MMOs, the graveyard is bigger than the town, but ESO has a better chance than almost everyone of making a permanent home there."

Microsoft is not preparing to release Halo 5 until November of 2015, TechSpot.com reports.

"It's not all bad news, however, as there should be plenty of other Halo goodies to hold fans over until then," the website writes.

"Within the span of a year, the source claims we will see five Halo games: Halo 2 Anniversary Edition for Xbox One on November 11, 2014, Halo 3 port for Xbox One, Halo 4 port for Xbox One and the aforementioned Halo 5."
