Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Midrange And Dual-SIM Enabled Galaxy Mega Plus Hits China, Boasts 5.8" Display, Quad-Core CPU, 1.5GB RAM, 8MP Snapper

If you can't get enough of upcoming Samsung phones for 2014, then you better check this one out.

In its continuous barrage of smartphone releases targetting different spec and price ranges, Samsung quietly announces the Galaxy Mega Plus in China.

As a sibling of the Galaxy Mega 5.8, we expect the Mega Plus to boast similar specs, and in most cases it does. The only major difference is the upgraded chipset, from dual-core to quad-core and runs on 1.2GHz. However, we still don't know whether it would be a Snapdragon or MediaTek-made component.

Sporting the model name I9152P, the Galaxy Mega Plus is packed with the same 5.8-inch screen as its sibling, and also having a qHD (960 x 540) display, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The Android-powered handset also has an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 1.9MP front-facing camera.

To complete the spec list is a 2,600mAh battery which should be enough for the screen and pixel resolution of the device, as well as Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. We don't know if the device will get Android 4.4 KitKat any time soon.

There's no word yet regarding availability or pricing, but we'll keep you posted for the latest updates.
