iPhone 6 Rumors: Report Says Sapphire Displays Are For The iWatch, Not The Upcoming Apple Flagship Phone

Last week, one of the more interesting iPhone 6 rumors we have heard claimed that Apple has everything to order 100 million sapphire displays for the upcoming phone. It turns out the Cupertino company has other things in mind.

In a new report by BGR, website G for Games reports that several media Chinese media outlets are reporting that Apple will indeed order a significant amount of sapphire displays, but they won't be on the latest iPhone 6, but the upcoming iWatch wearable computer.

Apparently, equipping sapphire displays on the new iPhone would be too expensive for the Cupertino company given the size of the phone's screen. The costly problem becomes worse as the iPhone 6 will allegedly pack a 4.8-inch and 5.7-inch version for its display.

On the other hand, getting the technology for the iWatch would not cost that much considering the smaller display needed for the device.

So with this alleged development, we can see that the iPhone 6 may not have a sapphire display after all. On the other hand, it almost confirms that the highly-anticipated iWatch will be arriving later this year.
