Yesterday we heard reports that upcoming HTC phones in 2014 would be much cheaper. Is this the first? 

In an attempt to re-capture its midrange market crown, the executives of the Taiwanese manufacturer have mentioned in an interview that the company will focus on the midrange department, as well as improve their marketing campaigns. 

Today, we see what appears to be a leaked image of an unannounced HTC device.

Dubbed as the HTC Desire 8, the Android-powered handset is very much unknown in the tech world. Aside from the fact that it boasts an elegant and HTC One-ish design, the image tells us almost nothing.

One interesting thing to point out is that the device looks like it is coated with polycarbonate casing, one feature present in most of the company's recent midrange releases. 

In the report by GSM Arena, alleged specs of the device include a huge 5.5-inch screen with HD (720p) display, a 13MP rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. 

The Desire 8 certainly looks promising, and we'll bring you more details about the device in the coming days.
