"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 spoilers reveal fans may see the mystery of the pineapple solved before the finale, according to "How I Met Your Mother" creator Carter Bays! Also, who will get the last line of the series in "How I Met Your Mother" season 9?

During Reddit.com's "Ask Me Anything" forum, Redditors tried to get the latest spoilers out of "How I Met Your Mother" creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas.

"You might find out what happened with the pineapple eventually. We had always said we'd never reveal it, but now I'd say it's fifty fifty," Bays said.

For those of you who may have forgotten, in "The Pineapple Incident" episode (season 1, episode 10) the gang tries to reconstruct what happened to Ted after he wakes up next to a pineapple with no memory of what occurred the night before. The mystery of where the pineapple came from was never solved, and in episode "Mom and Dad" (season 9, episode 10), Lily makes fun of Ted's "detective skills" by pointing out how Ted, eight years later, still hasn't figured out where the pineapple came from.

During a talk with TV Guide, Thomas also revealed a spoiler about something else that will happen before "HIMYM" ends: who will get the last line of the series?

Though Thomas says that many aspects of the finale were planned years ago, it was recently decided to give the last line to "someone you don't expect. Maybe someone you haven't even met yet."

We do know one thing: the finale will show the gang in 2030. The finale episode of "How I Met Your Mother" is scheduled to air on March 31st.
