`Beetlejuice’ `Beetlejuice’ `Beetlejuice’ Sequel, We Said It Three Times, Now They Have to Make It; Michael Keaton Will Haunt the Sequel Now That Tim Burton Is Digging It Up

Beetlejuice Sequel: There have been so many rumors about a "Beetlejuice" rumor, the name "Beetlejuice" has been bandied about so many times that it has been summoned.

Michael Keaton confirms that the 1988 hit "Beetlejuice" will be getting a sequel. If Tim Burton is directing, as was reported back in October, Michael Keaton says he will come back.

On the press junket for Michael Keaton's newest film "RoboCop," the actor said he was looking at reprising his title role in a sequel to the 1988 hit "Beetlejuice."

Keaton told MTV News that he has been talking to director Tim Burton and the possibility of working on "Beetlejuice 2" came up. Burton whispered to Keaton that he's had writer Seth Grahame-Smith locked in his basement working on a script since at least 2012. Seth Grahame-Smith wrote Burton's reboot of "Dark Shadows" as well as and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."

Keaton told MTV, "I've emailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff. I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another."

Tim Burton is just finishing up, right now, as you read this, really, the Walter Keane biopic called "Big Eyes." This frees up Burton to work on the "Beetlejuice" sequel.

If Burton has time, so does Keaton. He said "Now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away, we've talked to each other, and emailed each other, and if he's in, it's going to be hard not to be in."

No official "Beetlejuice 2" details have been confirmed yet. But Warner Brothers has their shovels out.
