The HTC One 2 M8 release date could be later this month, but as early as now leaks of its purported design have now leaked. Now, we see what appears to be a golden version of the unannounced device.  

According to a report from GSM Arena, two alleged images of the device appeared online. But as you can see from the images, instead of the usual aluminum finish, the edges are colored white. 

The back cover of the device may not look like it, but it certainly has a gold tone to it. If it were shot with a better camera with much better lighting, then we could have confirmed it. However, even if HTC plans to make a gold option for the HTC One M8 straight from launch, that would not be surprising.

Last year, the Taiwanese manufacturer launched a limited edition gold edition for its current One flagship, months after the iPhone 5s stole the 3rd quarter with its gold look. 

Apart from the color, the back cover's design is pretty much what we have seen in recent leaks. The dual cameras, and dual LED flash are both there, which rumors tipped to bring life-like colors in images, similar to the iPhone's True Tone technology. 

In front, there are no hardware buttons which easily confirms earlier reports of HTC moving toward the on-screen button category. 

The HTC One M8 release date is expected by the end of the month during MWC in Barcelona.
