Stephen Curry Shooting Form Keeps Golden State Title Hopes Alive? Will It Be Enough? Final Push For Better Playoff Position Needed!

Stephen Curry is the league's best shooter. His shooting form and confidence is being used as a model by coaches everywhere. Can a team led by a shooter go all the way to the top? Golden State wants to answer that with a "yes."

Stephen Curry was voted to start in his first ever All-Star Game, after being the biggest snub on last year's event. No one's going to snub or overlook him this season, especially if he hoists the Larry O' Brien Trophy.

He recently spoke to ESPN Radio, the transcription from Warriors World:

On being a starter on the All Star Game after last year's infamous snub: "It was kind of surreal at the time... Definitely a rewarding moment, me and my family watching the telecast seeing my picture pop up, it was a great moment for us and something we'll remember."

Steph shares the priceless family reaction: "I was sitting on my couch with my head in my hands and my wife was probably the most excited as she started screaming and running around.  We have a little 18 month old baby too and she started screaming not really knowing what was going on too, it was a cool moment."

Steph is no longer just a shooter now, he has become a complete and dynamic elite-level point guard. The most indicative stat is his assist numbers: "I got the ball a lot more in my hands this year, last year we had Jarrett Jack who took a lot of that responsibility as well so I could play off the ball.  This year I've been able to make a lot more decisions and draw more attention on the court so I can get my teammates involved.  Obviously, they're the ones making the shots so credit to them.  Our offense is pretty fluid and we have a lot of threats out on the court at all times.  They make me look good just by getting them the ball and making plays.  Just trying to stay as aggressive as possible with every opportunity I have to make plays."

The biggest worry for Warrior fans is their precarious playoff position. From nba.com Standings, they are at 8th place in the West with a 31-22 record, half a game behind the Phoenix Suns (who has this year's snub in Goran Dragic) and a mere two games against a resurgent Memphis Grizzlies. Curry talks about the cutthroat Western Conference:

"It is tough... We were laughing the other day about how we didn't play and jumped two spots... Then we lose on a buzzer beater to LeBron and drop two spots.  Every game is so important especially when you're playing at home in games you're supposed to win.  That's going to be a priority for us after the All-Star break to understand regardless of who we're playing every game is important in establishing our playoff position."

The West and East are poles apart. There is already a virtual consensus on the Top Two on the East, while early the Warriors, who were early title favorites, are on the brink of missing the playoffs. Curry understands this, and with a confidence boost/vindication from the All-Star Game, he is ready to lead the Warriors' charge!
