"The Amazing Spider Man 2" is just one of the franchise movies to be released this year. All three Marvel Studios will have sequels forthcoming. Will the wallcrawler reign supreme? Will he overcome the might the multitude of villains cast against him, specifically Electro, who is reportedly the most formidable villain?

Electro is the most formidable villain Spider Man has to face, at least in this sequel (and perhaps, the series, all the way to the Sinister Six) and according to comic fanboys and geeks who are the sages when it comes to superhero canon.

Electro has humble origins, though. From Den Of Geek:

"Electro, aka Max Dillon, gained his powers when he was struck by lightning while working on a power line. Turned into a living conduit for electricity, he has numerous electricity-based powers and frequently clashes with Spider-Man in the course of his criminal schemes."

From Yahoo Movies UK: "The biggest bad of the lot is set to be Electro, a villain with a taste for high-voltage carnage who, along with his human alter-ego Max Dillon, is portrayed by Jamie Foxx."

However, Yahoo Movies also talked with Foxx himself, who gave some disconcerting news:

Jamie Foxx, when asked on whether he will be in TASM 3 and 4: "I'll say this, I don't know if you'll see me in that. But I do know this: electricity never dies, it just goes somewhere else, so with that in mind you know...[shrugs] hopefully."

It would be a shame because critics believe that "The Amazing Spider Man 2" could beat the other franchise movies  "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past." What Culture believes that they have the right mix of great casting, humor and the right amount of visually stunning fight scenes and excitement. They even declare it the "Movie Of The Year." From What Culture:

"The first movie in this franchise was a massive financial success and, with an existing fan base, an influx of new acting talent and a more action-packed story than the first one, the sequel is set to dominate the spring box office. Superb cast and, more importantly, exquisite casting.

This movie could be outstanding. There is genuine cause to believe that it could turn out to be the best comic book movie of the year."
