Simon Cowell shared his softer side when he proudly showed off his baby boy Eric in a series of photos on his Twitter account. One of the photos is a portrait of the happy couple, as Lauren Silverman and the "X Factor" judge lovingly ogle at their newest bundle of joy. 

The black and white photos were posted on the multi-millionaire's Twitter account and showed him cradling his little baby boy Eric.

Simon Cowell's newborn son was born on Valentine's Day, weighing six pounds and seven ounces. Us Weekly said that Simon Cowell named the baby after his late father who succumbed to a heart attack in 1999.

The photos also belied Simon Cowell's anxiety to become a father as he revealed in Parade magazine in October 2013, since he's not "brilliant with babies."

"I never know what to do. But [once he's older] I think I'll be a good dad in terms of advice. And then I'll get to do all the things I want to do, like go to Disneyland or Universal Studios, teach him how to drive -- I love all that," he said.

US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres also showed her love as she tweeted: 'What a perfect day for @SimonCowell to have his son be born. I wish you all the love in the world.'

His son's birth came in the wake of the cancellation by Fox of the "X Factor" USA after Simon Cowell balked at returning considering that he has to jetty between London and Los Angeles.

Kevin Reilly, Fox entertainment chairman said in a statement: "Unfortunately, there is no 'X Factor USA' without Simon Cowell but we understand and support his decision to focus on the international formats and on the next phase of his personal life."

Lauren Silverman has another 7-year-old son with former husband, real estate developer Andrew Silverman, but they officially divorced in December 2013.
