Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumors: Image Confirms Upcoming Device's 2K Resolution, Pitting The iPhone's Retina Display Against The Wall

We have heard almost every detail possible about Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors. Now, it appears that one of those rumors are unofficially confirmed as shown in the settings tab of the handset.

According to a report from BGR, a screenshot posted by SamsungGalaxyS5Abonnement showed that the upcoming flagship device will indeed sport a super sharp Quad HD or 2K (2560 x 1440) screen resolution.

In comparison, the current flagship Galaxy S4 has Full HD (1920 x 1080) which in itself is already a gorgeous-looking display. On the other hand, Apple's famed Retina display which the company claimed to produce more accurate colors, only offers 1,136 x 640 resolution for the current iPhones.

While Retina has certainly made leaps in the tablet and laptop lineup of Apple, it has become stagnant for iPhones, mainly due to the device's smaller screens. Hopefully, the rumored 4.8-inch and 5.7-inch displays for the iPhone 6 would see the light of day, which would enable the Cupertino company to release displays with far better and higher resolution.

Meanwhile, while Apple is working on that, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will certainly have the headstart it needs in order to conquer the market once more. Some of the specs of the upcoming device include a quad-core Snapdragon 800 or octa-core Exynos chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 20MP primary camera, and Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box.
