While Cody Simpson's song commitments kept him from visiting his girlfriend Gigi Hadid last Valentine's Day, the 17-year-old still managed to surprise his lady love.

Apart from releasing Cody Simpson's song 'Love', the former Disney star ensured that the 18-year-old model would receive gifts. Through one of her Instagram posts, the Guess model thanked her beau for the thoughtful presents.

"He never fails to amaze me. Thank you to my one, @codysimpson. Happy Valentine's day (& 8 months) You're my FAVORITE! #taken," wrote Hadid alongside the image of a bouquet of pink and red roses as well as gold ring bearing the word "taken".

More than the flowers and jewelry, Simpson likewise knows the value of presence, that's why he is planning to make up to Hadid by visiting her soon.

"I'm hopefully going to visit my girlfriend in a couple days to celebrate Valentine's Day, so that will be nice. For us, it's a serious relationship, so I want to plan something really special. I'm still figuring out what I'm going to do," said the Australian native to Just Jared.

He even plans on doing something which he is good at - writing songs.

"I'll probably go to New York and try to do something romantic. Maybe write her a little song and play it for her, serenade her. That's my favorite thing to do is write songs," he gushed.

Where did Simpson learn all his romantic gestures?

"Just watching [my dad] be romantic with my mom. That's where I learned. The most important thing to me is just being a gentleman, romantic, and chivalrous," he revealed.
