Now that Ellen Page has come out as gay, two very different reactions have occurred.

The first is the hashtag #ellenpageisafaggot on Twitter, which continues to trend now that the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" actress has confirmed she is gay during a speech at the LBGTQ event Time to Thrive hosted by the Human Rights Campaign.

Although the Twitter hashtag is very popular right now, the tweets have been of two minds in response to Ellen Page coming out.

Despite the outpour of public support from celebrities and fans, Ellen Page being gay seems to still be a controversial topic for some.

But it may have landed her a new movie role opposite Julianne Moore.

Recently PerezHilton reports that Ellen Page will be playing Julianne Moore lesbian partner in a movie called "Freeheld," based off of the 2007 Oscar-winning documentary short.

Reportedly, it is about a policewoman who is kept from leaving her pension to her domestic partner.

No doubt this movie will be poignant regardless of whether Ellen Page is a lesbian or not.
