Upcoming AT&T Phones 2014: 5.5" HTC Desire 8 Midrange Device To Hit AT&T Stores Soon, New Android Handset Packs 13MP Camera, 5MP Front-Facing Shooter

AT&T is known for getting gorgeous handsets for its collection of offerings to subscribers, and it looks like one of upcoming AT&T phones for 2014 belongs to HTC.

In a report by Android Authority, the full specs of the midrange Android handset has been leaked by HTC's Weibo account itself.

The phone may be in the midrange category, but it certainly looks flagship material. The Android-powered device boasts a huge 5.5" display with HD (720p) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, Snapdragon 400, and 8GB of internal memory.

The device also comes with the usual connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0.

Also on board are a 13MP primary camera, a 5MP front cam (which is rare in today), a microSD card slot, Sense 6.0  and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Interestingly, the HTC Desire 8 will also have the on-screen buttons of the One 2 M8, further confirming earlier reports that the Taiwanese manufacturer has moved on from capacitive to on-screen keys.

The phone reportedly would be launched first in China on February 24, followed by other Asian markets, Europe and the US where it will hit AT&T and Sprint.

While the device is certainly a looker and packs a punch, pricing would still be crucial for HTC in order to win with this one.
