Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumors: Korean Tech Giant To Unleash 2 Versions Of Newest Flagship, One Packs 1080p Display, While A 'Premium' Edition Gets QHD Resolution

With MWC 2014 just around the corner, we see some last-minute Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors about the company's newest flagship device.

According to a recent rumor from several tech websites, Samsung will not release one, but two Galaxy S5 editions for this year. So are we directly seeing an ripoff of what Apple did for its iPhone 5s and 5c handsets? Not quite.

The report said that the Korean tech giant is having problems producing enough panels for the 2K or QHD (2560 x 1440) display of its upcoming flagship. As a result, the company allegedly decided to release two variants - one with the standard 2K resolution, and the other with a slightly lower Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution.

While the resolution difference is not really too much, there would certainly be confusion among Samsung and Android fans who are already preparing their budget for the soon to be announced flagship device.

In spite having two variations for the Galaxy S5, we're afraid the only difference is the screen resolution. Earlier rumors have been pointing to a metallic version as well as a plastic edition, but those were debunked a few weeks later.

So are you still rooting for the Samsung Galaxy S5 when it debuts at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona?
