Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 By Sprint And Galaxy S4 Now Receives KitKat, Brings Full Album Art Lockscreen, Better Performance, UI Improvements

Android 4.4 Kit Kat release date: After months of waiting, the Kitkat update finally rolls out to the Galaxy S4, as well as Sprint's Galaxy Note 3.

According to recent reports by GSM Arena, Samsung has already released the newest Android version to two of its latest flagships, the Galaxy Note 3 from Sprint, and the Galaxy S4.

Owners of both devices can expect the rollout any time today, but should prepare their Wi-Fi connections as the Note 3's update is around 500MB while the S4's is reportedly about 1GB.

The update provides a ton of new features for both devices, which already have high-end specs and cool features. Some of the additions include the redesigned notification bar, a lockscreen with full album art, Project Svelte, a dedicated camera shortcut, better user interface, and improved stability.

In the report, the update will hit the Exynos-based GT-I9500 Galaxy S4 devices, which launched internationally. We expect the other Galaxy S4 variants to receive the update any day from now.

Meanwhile, the KitKat update would also solve some minor issues of the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3, including a bug fix to enable third-party S-View cases to work again.
