Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Acer Launches 2 Affordable 'Liquid' Handsets Ahead Of MWC, Midrange Liquid E3 Packs 4.7" 720p Display, LED Flash For Selfies

Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Acer is not that good in deciding how long a teaser is from the actual announcement of the device.

Just a couple of days after releasing a teaser about an upcoming Liquid model device, the company has now launched two affordable handsets for the market ahead of the Mobile World Congress which starts next week in Barcelona.

First up is the midrange Liquid E3 which boasts some decent specs, including a 4.7-inch display with HD (720p) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and the usual connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and GPS.

The Acer smartphone also packs a 13MP primary camera, a RAPID key at the back for answering calls, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, which the report says would be eventually upgraded to KitKat.

However, one of the Liquid E3's cool features is the 2MP front camera that is coupled with an LED flash, which obviously aims to improve the quality of selfies.

Meanwhile, Acer also announced an entry-level handset, dubbed the Liquid Z4. Its specs include a 4-inch TFT screen, a dual-core chipset with two cores running 1.3GHz, 4GB of internal memory, and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.

The Z4 also has the same RAPID button at the back for calls, and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as well.

In case you are planning to get these handsets, the Liquid E3 will cost you €199 when it launches throughout Europe in April, while the Z4 is priced at just €99.

Both devices are expected to be showcased during the MWC event next week.
