Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: More Desire 8 Images Leak Ahead Of MWC Launch, Midrange Phablet Allegedly Packs 5.5" Display, Quad-Core CPU, BoomSound Speakers, Android KitKat

Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: The Taiwanese manufacturer may not be releasing the 'All New One' this month, but it still has a formidable midrange device coming up.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, HTC is planning to go all out with its midrange offering - the Desire 8. But don't let that 'midrange' tag fool you. This Android-powered device certainly packs a punch that can knock out even the highest of the current flagships.

HTC Family, through its Weibo account, published several interesting shots of the HTC Desire 8. Unlike other HTC midrange devices in the past, the Desire 8 will have more color options instead of the usual black and white editions.

As the image shows, there will also be a dark blue, white, and red-orange version which would provide a healthy number of possible options for buyers.

Aside from the color options, the Desire 8 is also filled with features which greatly compensates for its midrange screen resolution and Snapdragon chipset. The Android-powered handset will pack a 5.5-inch Super LCD2 display with HD (720p) resolution, 1.5GB of RAM, a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, Snapdragon 400 and Adreno 305 for discrete graphic performance.

Also on board is a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5MP front shooter, Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box, and Sense 6.0. The Desire 8 will also have BoomSound speakers which should suffice for audiophiles.

The upcoming HTC device is expected to be announced on February 24 during the first day of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Stay tuned as we give you more details about this handset and other exciting smartphones on that week-long event.
