Sony Xperia Z2 Release Date: Sony Finally Unleashes Newest High-End Smartphone, Xperia Z1 Successor Boasts 5.2" 1080p Display, Quad-Core CPU, 3GB RAM, 20.7MP Camera With 4K Video Recording Support

Sony Xperia Z2 release date: After months of speculation and rumors, we finally see Sony's newest flagship device - the Xperia Z2.

According to a report by Android Authority, Sony has officially announced the Xperia Z2 during the company's press event at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

While the Xperia Z2's design borrows heavily from its predecessor, its upgraded list of specs is already a fairly nice treat.

The newly-announced smartphone boasts a 5.2-inch Live Color LED with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The screen is also powered by Sony's TRILUMINOUS and X-Reality technology.

Meanwhile, the Xperia Z2's power should not be underestimated with its quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, a Snapdragon 801 chipset and Adreno 330 for maximum graphics performance. Also on board is 3GB of RAM for superior multi-tasking capabilities, and a 20.7MP camera that is able to shoot 4K videos with an improved SteadyShot image optimization feature from Sony.

Rounding up the key specs for the Xperia Z2 are the 3,200mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

The new Sony flagship is reported to cost around $600 to $650, and is expected to hit the market starting March.
