NBC has released a new Hannibal Season 2 trailer and fans were caught in shock by it. Mads Mikkelsen’s Hannibal and Laurence Fishburne’s Special Agent-in-Charge Jack Crawford are figuring in on a knife fight, a fight that is extremely brutal. Hannibal swung the knife towards Agent Crawford but the latter was able to stop it by allowing the weapon to pierce through his palm. This is pretty odd since at the start of the video, the two were seen sharing a ‘nice meal.’

This scene pretty much sums up the development of relationship between the two characters. At the end of season one, Mikkelsen fooled Crawford that Will Graham, the gifted criminal profiler and hunter of serial killers played by Hugh Dancy, was the suspect for all the murders they went on. The two are close colleagues who agreed that Graham is unstable and needs to be guarded all the time.

Will one of them die? Of course, that is a question NBC won’t answer. Viewers will find out about this once the second season starts on Friday, February 28.

According to Screen Crush, the second coming of the show will feature new characters. The website wrote:

Additionally, series creator Bryan Fuller has confirmed Raul Esparza’s return to ‘Hannibal’ season 2 as Dr. Frederick Chilton, while ‘X-Files‘ vet Gillian Anderson will reprise her role as Hannibal’s therapist Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, as will Eddie Izzard as Dr. Abel Gideon, along with confirmed season 2 roles for ‘Sex and the City’ vet Cynthia Nixon and ‘Homeland‘ player Martin Donovan.

The biggest new character to watch out for in the show is iconic literary Hannibal villain Mason Verger and his tortured sister Margot. Mason Verger will be played by the equally great actor Michael Pitts of the Boardwalke Empire while Katharine Isabelle will do the Margot role.
