MWC 2014 Coverage: In case you have missed the release date of Samsung's newest flagship, here are some things you may want to know.

According to a report from GSM Arena, the new member of the Galaxy S lineup boasts 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a 16MP primary camera and Android KitKat out of the box.

However, a recent report confirms previous rumors that the high-end device will come in to chipset versions - one with a quad-core Snapdragon 800 or 801, and one with an octa-core Exynos chipset.

The device's specs easily puts it among the top Android smartphones today. Aside from that, details of the US release date were also revealed.

In the report, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will launch in the US this April at major network carriers.

While pricing details have not yet been confirmed, the smartphone may come in at a two-year contract in carriers, and on installment basis in some retailers.
