Teenage sweethearts Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have officially put closure to their once blissful love story. The two got married in 2005 and had a son named Julian Fuego who was later born in April 2010.

"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," says the 38-year-old actress to People magazine. Fans cannot help but speculate about the reason behind Robin Thicke and Paula Patton's divorce.

Surely it isn't about their lives behind closed doors for the pop singer just talked to Elle magazine last October 2013 about their intimate affairs: "The spice is not our problem. We're overspiced."

When asked if they play music whenever they're in the bedroom, Thick quickly nodded: "In fact, she likes to do it more than ever now. Sometimes she'll even play groupie for me. We're pretty sure we've loved each other for a few lives."

Thicke similarly confessed his cheesiness: "I like to take her out to a fancy, six-course meal that lasts three hours and stare into her eyes. Of course it's a little schmaltzy. There's nothing women love more than an effort."

"Of course I'm a little cheesy. Love is cheesy. Love is corny. But it's also the greatest feeling in the whole world," he added.

Thicke has been criticized for collaborating with the 21-year-old Disney star for a sexy dance during the 2013 MTV VMA's. Cyrus and Thicke performed the latter's hit "Blurred Lines".

Nonetheless, in her appearance in "Watch What Happens: Live", Patton said she didn't make a big fuss over the dance: "Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don't know how not to dance with someone having their booty in you. All my friends do it like that. And I don't really know what the big deal is."
