Friends Reunion 2014? Maybe To Help Jennifer Aniston Pay Off Court Costs; Friends Star Owes Manager $1.6 Million

Friends Reunion 2014: Jennifer Aniston's holdout notwithstanding, the cast of Friends might have to reunite just to help Lisa Kudrow pay off her manager. Lisa Kudrow owes $1.6 million.

Media reports say Lisa Kudrow screwed her ex-manager out of a small fortune in commissions. A Los Angeles County jury has ordered Lisa Kudrow to pay her former manager $1.6 million in residuals from her work on "Friends."

In a lawsuit filed by Scott Howard, Lisa Kudrow's manager claimed he had an oral agreement with Kudrow a was owed a percentage of her earnings on the hit NBC sitcom Friends. The case began in 2008, one year after Kudrow and Howard went their separate ways. Howard claims that when he and Kudrow split after 16 years of working together, the actress stopped paying him.

Howard sued Kudrow for refusing to pay him over $50,000 in fees from the actress' Friends earnings. Kudrow claimed she had "no obligation to pay Howard" a commission after the two ended their professional partnership. The manager contended that he was owed five percent of her earnings from continuing residuals of work negotiated when Howard was representing Kudrow. He said the two made an oral agreement in 1991 that Howard would receive a 10 percent cut of Kudrow's fees.

Kudrow's laywer, Gerald Sauer, issued a statement saying "The jury's verdict is merely one step in the legal process. This case ultimately will be resolved at the appellate level. Ms. Kudrow has faith in the judicial system, and she believes that the eventual outcome of this contractual dispute will be in her favor."

Kudrow started on Friends as one of the lowest-paid actresses among the show's six stars, making $13,500 per episode. Kudrow earned over $1 million for each of the show's final 18 episodes starting in 2004.
