This game against Syracuse could be the biggest game at home for Virginia in years. If they win, they clinch the ACC season-title. Virginia guard Malcolm Brogdon was unaware that the program only won the ACC outright once and that was 33 years ago.

"I'm not even sure the rest of the guys on my team know that," the redshirt sophomore said when asked about the dubious championship fact to ESPN.com. "I didn't know that until you just said it. That would be a huge accomplishment, really be unbelievable."

This game is one that has been sold out for months as the 14,953-seat John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville.

"As a player, you try to block out the distractions, block out the publicity the game is getting, because I really feel like it's not about that," Brogdon told ESPN.com. "At the end of the day it's just another basketball game. We've got to go in and play our game ... and impose our will from the beginning."

Syracuse was a near made buzzer-beater away from losing to Maryland for what would have been the once undefeated Orangemen's third straight loss. They lost to Boston College and then lost to Duke. They escaped Maryland with a two-point victory.

"We're in a lot of these games," coach Jim Boeheim told ESPN.com. "For the most part we've made good plays at the end of them, and that's why we are where we are. We're not overpowering too many people, I can promise you that."
