The rumors were apparently false since Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are still together! However, should the 33-year-old actor be threatened now that an eligible Hollywood bachelor has expressed interest for his 39-year-old girlfriend?

According to the National Inquirer, George Clooney is crushing on Mendes since he broke up from his wrestler girlfriend Stacy Keibler in July 2013.

"George would give his right arm to date Eva. He's had a crush on her for a while. He's run into her a few times over the years and loves her energy. He says he could talk to her about anything since she's hugely intellectual, and he's turned on by her smarts," said the source.

Despite Clooney's attraction to Mendes, he will not make a move because of the brunette beauty's two-year relationship with Gosling: "He would never be disrespectful and pursue anyone else's girl­friend. But he's sent the word out that he'd date her in a heartbeat if she becomes officially single and is interested in him."

The 'Hitch' star's publicist recently denied rumors about Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes' split. The 'Gangster Squad' actor was even seen visiting his girlfriend's house.

Nonetheless, if it's true that Clooney is crushing on the Cuban beauty, should Gosling be flattered or threatened?
