As "American Horror Story" season 4 continues to be shrouded in mystery, updates regarding its former and current cast members have surfaced.

Recently, it has been confirmed that "American Horror Story" alum Dylan McDermott has been tapped to star in an upcoming CBS drama about the LAPD.

According to E! Online, McDermott will play Detective Jack Larsen, a recent transfer to the Threat Assessment Unit in this still untitled psychological thriller.

Meanwhile, it appears the cult TV favorite "Heroes" will get a second chance along the same vein as "24."

New Now Next reports that "Heroes Reborn" will be a miniseries based on the NBC superhero drama, and could bring back some of its former cast members.

“The enormous impact 'Heroes' had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening. Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment,” says NBC's Jennifer Salke.

Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy. But we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”

Now, fans are wondering whether this means "American Horror Story" alum Zachary Quinto might return as the villain Sylar after starring in "Asylum."

And while this doesn't rule out Quinto returning to "American Horror Story" for season 4, it seems Dylan McDermott will be too busy to rejoin his former castmates.

Currently, the full cast of "American Horror Story" season 4 is still shrouded in mystery, and the only confirmed cast members are Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson.

However, Ryan Murphy has also been quoted to have invited back Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett for season 4.
