Under The Dome Season 2 Starts Production; 'Stoked' Stephen King Shows Up On The Set And Told Vogel No One Is Safe; Will Barbie Die?

CBS TV series Under the Dome ended its first season on September 16 last year. It’s almost half a year since viewers last saw Barbie, Julia Shumway, and the rest of the guys inside the dome. According to CBS, the show will return on June 30 for the second season.

On Monday, Under The Dome Season 2 production has started with most of the main cast present in the set.

“Production on Season 2 of Under the Dome has begun in Wilmington, N.C. and no one is safe! Executive producer Stephen King, the bestselling author of the novel the series is based on, wrote the first episode, which will be directed by executive producer Jack Bender,” CBS wrote on its website.

“The second season of UNDER THE DOME premieres Monday, June 30 (10:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. UNDER THE DOME was the #1 program last summer, with an average of 15.06 million viewers and 3.9/11 in adults 18-49, making it the most-watched scripted summer series in 21 years. UNDER THE DOME is licensed in 200 markets worldwide by CBS Studios International and is off to strong starts in countries where it has already premiered.”

Also present in the set was Stephen King, the author of the novel were the series was based from. He marked the start of filming through a tweet:

“The 2nd season of UNDER THE DOME starts production tomorrow. I’m pretty stoked.”

King is also the show’s executive producer will have the same role on the second season.

In a YouTube video released by the author, he was seen typing on a typewriter and was approached by Mike Vogel (playing Dale Barbara) and Colin Ford (Joe McAlister). King was asked about the “No one is safe” line by Vogel and Ford. King insisted that anyone can die in the show and said “the script is gone.” He also told the two actors that he is currently busy on his typewriter, composing a tweet
