The Pittsburgh Penguins (40-16-4) have yet to win since the Olympics, but they travel into Nashville vs a Predators (26-25-10) team that they defeated back in November. The Preds are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, but are currently in last place of the Central Division, despite having an above .500 record. Nashville is still only four points out of the final playoff spot, so a win over a first place team in the Eastern Conference like the Penguins would mean well for the Predators and give them so much-needed momentum going forward.

The Predators might have received the news they need to make a run for the playoffs because Patrick Rinne will make his return in net after missing four months. He has got some seasoning in the American Hockey League. Rinne stopped 33 of 35 shots over two starts.

"I'm ready to go, absolutely," Rinne said in the Tennessean, and evidently general manager David Poile and coach Barry Trotz agree.

He hasn't played since Oct. 22.

Injury report, according to NHL.com:

"Pittsburgh is without goalie Tomas Vokoun (hip), defensemen Kris Letang (stroke) and Paul Martin (hand) and forwards Pascal Dupuis (knee), Beau Bennett (wrist) and Chris Conner (hand). ... Nashville forward Nick Spaling (lower body) has been out since Jan. 31."
